Anne has experience teaching all levels
of students—Her 30 years of teaching
experience includes teaching Music Appreciation for the Los Angeles Unified School
District and presenting at assemblies for students of all ages. Anne earned her
California Clear Teaching Credential through National University, Los Angeles, took
music theory courses from UCLA, and studied privately under acclaimed studio harpist
Anne Roos creates fun lesson plans that
encourage students to ask questions and interact.
She is willing to travel to your school to present a program that gets everyone
excited about music, history, and geography. For school assemblies, she wears traditional
Renaissance dress to peak her audience’s curiosity while playing period pieces
on a 1500-style Celtic harp. Just to wow her audience, Anne also likes to add some

Here is just a small sample of the fun programs
that Anne presents:
• Introduction to the Harp and Harp Music—Suitable for kindergarten through 3rd
grade—Students learn about the harp, string instruments, and clap along and
sing to music played on the Celtic harp. They’ll learn the difference between
a march, a waltz, and an air.
• Cultural History of the Harp—Suitable for upper elementary and middle school grades—Students
learn about how the harp fit into the Renaissance period, why people dressed that
way, and about harpers as bards and spies for Ireland.
• In-Depth Cultural History of the Harp—Specifically suited for high-school students—Particularly
when students are planning a school Renaissance or Medieval fair, this presentation
supplements their understanding of the cultural history of that period, complete
with a performance of period music and song on the Celtic harp.
• Unique University Concerts—These go beyond a live concert of harp music. Complete
with storytelling, students and faculty alike will appreciate the confident musicianship
of Grammy® harpist Anne Roos.
